Our Foundation team work closely with local kindergartens to ensure children are fully supported in their school transition. We have a number of structured transition sessions in Terms 3 and 4 for the students starting school the following year, as well as information sessions for families. Our Year 6 teachers working closely with local secondary schools to support students to transition smoothly into secondary school. The application process for year 7 places starts in Term 2. Every student automatically receives a place at their zoned government secondary school and on the application form there is a preferences list where families can request a place at a non-zoned school. Each secondary school sets their own additional transition dates, however there is a state-wide date in early December for all new Year 7 students.
